Amit Chaudhary
Postdoctoral Fellow
I earned my PhD in Biotechnology from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Allahabad, India, where my research focused on unraveling the genetic factors underlying Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis. I then joined the Polymer Simulation and Characterization Lab at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, India, as an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow, using molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the antibacterial properties and amyloidogenic activity of amphibian antimicrobial peptides. Alongside this work, I collaborated with the Soft Materials Research Lab in the Department of Chemistry at IIT Bombay, studying secondary structure transitions of alpha-synuclein in the presence of polymer surfactants across both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Sun Lab, where my research centers on the deorphanization of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Beyond the bench, I have contributed to the UAB Postdoctoral Association (UABPDA) for the past two years, serving as Event Coordinator and Social Media and Communications Coordinator.
