Theo Hines
Undergraduate Researcher
I am a senior majoring in Genetics and Genomic Sciences and getting my Graduate Certificate in Public Health. In the lab, I work under Craig where I am characterizing the developmental timing and locomotor behavior of alternative Caenorhabditis species C. tropicalis and C. briggsae. After graduation, I plan to complete my Master's in Public Health and get an MD-PhD; I want to be a translational physician-scientist and study complex multifactorial diseases and the impact of physical and social environment on them. Outside of the lab, I am the President of oSTEM at UAB (pre-professional organization for LGBTQ+ students in STEM), a member of the Science and Technology Honors Program, and a UAB Trailblazer (Tour Guide).
